Summary:
As a Mid-level Cybersecurity Engineer (Cybersecurity Engineer II) you are to support an upcoming effort at NAVWAR HQ in downtown San Diego. Cybersecurity Engineers prepare, implement, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policy, to include Assessment and Authorization requirements. The ideal candidate will have existing experience with US Navy or other DoD environments and applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess, design, and implement upgrade, and/or monitor cybersecurity measures to improve cyber defense and maintain a cyber-resilient network for cybersecurity solutions tailored to specific projects and requirements.
- Apply deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities for risks and propose and implement remediation actions or risk mitigation strategies to strengthen the security posture of our systems and networks.
- Lead efforts to analyze and evaluate security vulnerabilities, threats, and risks. Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and electronic infrastructure to develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate remediation actions.
- Work closely with IT and engineering teams to integrate security measures into the design and development processes.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure our solutions remain state-of-the-art and respond to computer security breaches to re-establish protections and make required reports.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members in cybersecurity best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a concentration in computer science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering.
- Possess one of the following certifications: Information Assurance Management (IAM); Information Assurance Technical (IAT). Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE).
- DoD Secret clearance.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
